Embed a PDF

Embedding a PDF in a Content Module

  1. Find the URL for your PDF.

    1. If you need to upload the PDF, follow this guide and upload it to the Docs

    2. Once uploaded, right click on the file and select Get URL to get the specific URL for your file.

  1. Go to your content module and edit the content.

  2. Open the HTML portion of the editor.

  3. Place in the following code:

<object data="PLACE YOUR URL HERE" type="application/pdf" width="100%" height="1200" internalinstanceid="21"></object>

This may not always mobile friendly. If you are comfortable enough, we recommend using the code below. It will create a download link for the PDF if the PDF does not appear.

<object data="PLACE YOUR URL HERE" type="application/pdf" width="100%" height="1200" internalinstanceid="101" style="overflow: scroll;">It appears your Web browser is not configured to display PDF files. No worries, just <a href="PLACE YOUR URL HERE">click here to download the PDF file.</a></object>

When the PDF does not display, it will show:

  1. Copy your PDF URL and insert it in place of PLACE YOUR URL HERE. Keep the quotations in the code.

  2. Preview and save.

Quick tips:

  1. Replace this text with your PDF URL.

  2. Adjusts the pixel height of the frame the PDF is shown in. I’ve found that 1200 is a good size to show 1 full page of a PDF.
